Hurricane!

Well the hurricane caught us a bit of guard...which you wouldn't think because if we had been listening to the weather station, and the years of counsel that has come from our Prophet we would have been better prepared! We that in mind, blessed are we. Though we did loose power for about ten days and lost all the food we had in the refrigerator, my sister had power two days later and a gas stove that didn't need electricity so we packed our bags and stayed there for a week. Thank goodness for family! Thank you for all those who called us and prayed for our well being.

I am 8 months and I can walk!! ....I am two months and I don't sleep!!!

Caden has started walking and is so proud of himself as he takes those wonderful steps, but then he tries to run and falls.
Caden amazes me! Sitting in the middle of the floor all of the sudden he gets up and stands there with a smile on his face, then he takes those steps and mommy and daddy CHEER! but wait, slow down, you are only 8 months.

And Gabriela, mom gets absolutely no sleep at night. A couple of nights ago I wake up (shortly after my last wake up) and guess who I hear giggling and laughing at 3 in the morning.
So the next day I try to keep her up a little bit before we put her down for night and I get this look...hmmm I have no idea what side of the family her little attitude comes from.

An Amazing Husband!

It would be almost impossible to keep up the post, be a mom of two wonderful babies and do all of the things that need to get done during the day if it wasn't for a supportive husband and father.

Some moments to remember:

1. When Caden had a blow out, and I kept reassuring Josh that I was coming to help, when really I was trying to find the camera.

2. Daddy and son daily bath time. Who better to put him in the "big bath" than his daddy, but watch out for "old faithful".
3. Daddy's reassuring hand. Caden loves to hold his hand as he starts to fall asleep at night!

Okay lets be honest, without Josh I don't know where we would all be!

JUST KEEP SWIMING!!

One of the greatest joys about being in Texas is being close to my wonderful nephew. Caden seems to enjoy it as well. They have a wondeful time following each other around, snatching things from each other and swiming!

All about Gabriela!

I was born on July 01, 2008 at 5:16 pm. I weighed 7 lbs 5.4 ounces and 20.5 inches. Mom began having contractions at 11 pm the day before and did not sleep all night! After she called the doctor telling him about the pain, he adviced her to stay home for a while that it might be "false labor". At 3 am mom could not take it anymore (neither could daddy) and told the doctor she was coming in!
Okay so there is alot more that happened, like some yelling at my husband and my mom, but hey what I wrote are the most important parts!!

Much has happened!

Okay so the title does not even come close to explaining all that has happened in the last few months. Many people including friends did not know that I was pregnant, well SURPRISE!!!
At the beginning we were not ready to tell anyone about the pregnancy some reasons were valid other not so much. First we wanted to focus all our attention on our amazing son, Caden and wanted to take no attention away from his birth and homecoming. Our family has been amazing Caden is one spoiled boy, he is loved to pieces and beyond.
On July 01, 2008, Caden became a big brother to Gabriela. Gabi is a wonderful addition to our family. Life is for sure busy, but now I am a stay at home mom and loving every minute.

Guess who can turn over?!?!?

The last few months have been amazing, our gorgeous son makes our minutes, our hours, our days, our months, our lives. Every day we are continuously amazed on how wonderful it feels to be parents to such a wonderful baby boy.

What has happened in the last month or so......
1. DROOL machine, the liquid from his mouth does not stop coming-teething anyone (or so the doctore suspects).
2. Turn-over-our boy officially can turn over to whatever position he wants to be in, there goes putting him on the couch!
3. He talks and he laughs! What a wonderful sound he makes early in the morning when he wants us to know that it is time to wake up and to take care of him. Thank you son for not crying!
4. He screams- he officially knows that he has a GREAT set of lungs and screams, but not because he's upset he just loves screaming.

Visit from OMA!

One of my favorite people came for a visit! Joshua's mom wanted to be able to spend time with her grandson and the visit was absolutely GREAT! One of Caden's favorite things to do with grandma (besides being held) was going on walks. Caden just melted in her arms as she cuddled and loved him to pieces.
Thank you Mom (Oma) for loving us all.

Where does time go?

No, I'm not a bad mother, just a really busy momma trying to adjust and trying to do too many things at once. By request and because I wanted to, here is a picture of my son...hopefully there will be more to come when I get my head straight and upload them to my blog.

Our son Caden....
* Starting at five weeks he has been amazing at holding his head up without a problem, except after eating then he just becomes too relax to try.
* He has just began to smile and laugh...which just melts mommy and daddy's heart, especially in the morning.
* Only wakes up once during the night, and sometimes not at all but is SURE hungry when he wakes up.
* Doesn't like going poop, but we are working through it and it doesn't seem as uncomfortable as it has been.
* Loves to be alert and look around at everything, most of the time he is awake and alert more than asleep.
* Loves to be read to and sang to
* Loves to put his face on his mom and dad's neck for comfort.

The birth of our Son, Part I.

Many people have asked me about our adoption story and I hesitate in sharing our full story because of the sacredness of it all. My fear is that many wouldn't understand the spirituality of it the entire experience, and that I won't give enough justice to the birth of our son. With that in mind I will share just a little of what happen......
Our son was born on December 19, 2007 at 9:24. We got a call that morning at about 3 am from the social worker and literally shoved everything in the car and took off. I can honestly say that the only items organized and well packed were the things that we were bringing for Caden (which we had packed weeks, if not months, before). Through the 11 hour drive we got a call regularly from Alison's father and brother, who updated us every step of the way on everything that was going on (THANK YOU!!). At first we thought we would make the birth, since the doctor said that Alison would deliver naturally and it would happen around 3 pm. But complications with Caden wanting to just come out led to a c-section. We were told by Alison's family that during the entire process, she continuously asked for us and wanted to make sure that we were called. I can't imagine how much pain she was in and the thought that we were in her thoughts during the delivery will always mean so much to us.

No, we didn't arrive for the birth, but we were included as much as it was possible during our drive.....Johnson, Alison's brother, photo messaged us pictures of Caden and picture of Alison. Our son was born and Josh and I couldn't wait to get there to see him. This was probably one of the longest 11 hour drives that we have EVER taken.

But it was worth it to see this beautiful face....even unhappy he is beautiful!

The Cousins!

Aren't they the cutest boys you've ever seen?!?!?
